All is well!  Tomorrow your child will bring home a homework menu and a weekly reading log in their Yellow Friday Folder.

The directions for the  homework menu are on the top. You will also notice this weeks spelling words. Our focus is irregular spelling and digraphs. In class we have practiced vocabulary in three fun ways that can be used to help practice spelling during the week at home; crossword, little letter makes a big letter and block/bubble letters.

The weekly reading log is a great way to stay organized and create a habit of reading nightly. Thank you for your support!

Another week has passed!

We have settled into our routines and are starting to dive into the year.

Writing: We have begun looking at small moments and personal narratives. We are also going to start the writing process.

Literacy: Tall Tales and Fairy Tales, our focus will be sequencing, character analysis and summarizing. We will be modeling and working on these together as we establish the structures. We will also have our daily phonics lesson to ensure growth in our reading abilities.

Math: Number sense, starting our journey towards 1000. We are looking and more/less, sequencing, and counting on.

PIT:  Such fun the last two weeks getting to know each other. In the next couple weeks we will start looking at phonics and syllable types. For math PIT we will be practicing number sense. We will have three groups, up to 10, up to 100 and up to 1000. Please ask your child which skills they are mastering during PIT time.
